Accountability partner

An accountability partner is another person who regularly reviews your commitments or trading record, so that rules are kept because someone will see them.

Rules are easier to break in private. A partner, whether a fellow trader, a mentor or a trusted friend, adds a small social cost to ignoring them and a second pair of eyes on your records.

It works best when the arrangement is specific. Agree on what is shared, such as your weekly plan-adherence figure, your biggest rule break and the one change you are making, and when. Vague check-ins turn into conversation about the market.

Choose someone who will be honest and who is not invested in your results. A partner who only reassures is no help, and one who gives trade ideas changes the purpose. The review should be about behaviour and process.

Share facts rather than stories. A number from your journal, such as followed the plan on 38 of 50 trades, is harder to soften than a summary from memory.

Privacy and trust matter: share only what you are comfortable sharing, and never account credentials.

Reflect is a private tool for one trader and has no partner feature. A weekly summary from your journal is a good thing to bring to a conversation with someone else.
